Bar 2025 Overview
The Supreme Court (SC) reported that 11,425 examinees completed the fifth digitalized and regionalized Philippine Bar Examinations held on September 7, 10, and 14, 2025, across 14 local testing centers nationwide.
During a special en banc session today, the SC will conduct the decoding of the Bar Examination results, a formal process in which the Office of the Bar Confidant is authorized to open the sealed envelopes containing the names of the successful examinees.
The Philippine Bar Examination serves as the professional licensure test for aspiring lawyers in the country and remains the only professional examination not administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
The prestigious examination covers six major subjects: Political and Public International Law (15%), Commercial and Taxation Laws (20%), Civil Law (20%), Labor Law and Social Legislation (10%), Criminal Law (10%), and Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises (25%).
This marks the third time the Supreme Court has implemented a shortened Bar Examination schedule, reducing the traditional four-Sunday format to a three-day testing period.
In the 2024 bar exams, SC announced that 3,962 out of 10,490 (37.84%) hurdled the tests.
